STAR WARS: Rogue One Sizzle Reel and Poster

Oh man summer is here and now all I can think about is December because the STAR WARS: Rougue One sizzle reel/Poster just released and wow do they look awesome!

Rogue One is set to be something really unique just because it’s the first film that takes place outside of the main “Episodes” and by what we’ve seen so far this could be the best STAR WARS film yet! you can check out the sizzle reel below and the new Poster up above. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH US!!!!

Is It 2016 Already?

Just yesterday I remember thinking how cool it was that we had finally reached 2015. After a year of seeing how we didn’t have real hover boards or pretty much anything back to the future 2 promised I was almost happy to see 2015 hit my rearview. The year wasn’t all bad (We did get an amazing new STAR WARS movie!!) but overall I’m looking forward to 2016 a lot more.

I’ve pretty much been in hibernation mode since mid December due to my kids and wife being home for break and getting smacked with a cold that I’m still not quite over yet. Also me spending my free time watching and re-watching THE FORCE AWAKENS took some time.

Nonethless, I hope you all had a great start to 2016 and I look forward to spending some fun times in 2016 with all of you.

Batman V Superman Trailer Wows, Then Fizzles

I’ve watched the new trailer for BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE several times at this point and all I can think is “why did they not end it 30 seconds earlier?”

The new look at the highly anticipated film does everything right in preparing us for this follow up to MAN OF STEEL and is the first true venture into seeing the larger DC Universe come to life on the big screen but as the trailer builds cut to a final 30 seconds where it seems like the trailer and possibly the plot of this film “goes off the rails”.

After seeing the introductions of Superman, Batman and Lex Luthor we are given some hints of Lex manipulating the two and are off and running with the idea that we’ll be watching an awesome film pitting these two heroes against each other before they eventually make peace and set up what will be a series of Justice League films. This trailer does a great job of setting up that premise but then out of nowhere the final 30 seconds or so are a weird jump to what one can only assume is the final act of the film that sees Lex Luthor (doing his best Dr. Frankenstein impression) creating  Doomsday as Wonder Women appears out of nowhere to save our heroes (who are apparently friends now?) and join by their side.

I honestly have no idea how the movie studio deemed it necessary to throw all of that storyline into one trailer for a film that releases in a few short months anyway. Besides seeming rushed and out of place the final 30 seconds of the trailer gave the film a panicked “SPIDER-MAN 3” feel of random characters and too much going on. I honestly want to still believe that in the end BATMAN V SUPERMAN will turn out to be a great film but unfortunately after this trailer, or at least the final 30 seconds of it os giving me a bad feeling about this whole thing.

NYCC 2015: STAR WARS REBELS Season 2 Trailer And Cast Bring More Depth To The Series

As you can see below, Disney released the newest trailer for the 2nd season of STAR WARS REBELS yesterday and it looks even better than I had hoped. This new season looks to get more in depth with characters like Ezra and Sabine and will also give us the story of Anakin and Ahsoka we all have been waiting for since the end of CLONE WARS.

I was also at the STAR WARS REBELS press conference yesterday where Dave Filoni (creator), Taylor Gray (Ezra), Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka) and newcomer to the franchise Sarah Michelle Gellar (The Seventh Sister) were on hand to answer questions about the new season and where it is all going from here. Gellar expressed her joy at having a part in the larger Star Wars universe and is happy she’s not the only member in her household now (husband Freddy Prinze Jr. voices Kanan). The team also shared how they don’t attempt to force the topic of strong female characters as much as the create it to happen more organically. Dave Fioni  said you can expect a lot from the ladies of REBELS this season but because in his eyes “thats just the way it is, it’s equal” They want both strong male and female characters to tell the overall story of REBELS.

We also learned a few other tidbits from the Q & A including:

  • all inquisitors are trained on the same spinning sabre blade the grand inquisitor used in season 1
  • that Clones who didn’t execute order 66 were immediately executed by their brethren due to subcommands in the order. Also by this point any remaining clones would be to old for service and would be disposed of by the empire.
  • The idea of Ezra becoming Kylo Ren was brought up as a question but Filoni laughed it off while star Taylor Gray was blown away by the idea and said he wants it to happen.
  • Filoni said he is in contact with all of the directors of the upcoming films
  • there is a story team who keeps all continuity in order across all mediums

Overall the cast and crew of STAR WARS REBELS gives off the vibe that they are completely invested in the future of the series and the star wars franchise as a whole. It is cleary visible in the shows storytelling and hopefully will be echoed through the films in years to come.

Season 2 of STAR WARS REBELS kicks off October 14th on Disney XD

Pepsi Perfect Gives Us The 2015 BACK TO THE FUTURE II Promised

I don’t know about the rest of you, but in my eyes 2015 has been a pretty depressing year so far. Back in 1989, as an impressionable 9 year old I had my world expanded by BACK TO THE FUTURE II as I spent an entire school year discussing the realities of what 2015 would be like and how I had a friend, who had a friend, who knew a guy, who said he met someone, who owned a working hoverboard. It was an exciting time to be a kid with an imagination but as we have fast forwarded 26 years and are now smack in the middle of the 2015 that BTTF II promised, the world we have is nothing like the fantastical dream we all grew up with.

Yes, we have cool computers and phones that can do things we didn’t even imagine possible back then but as far promises the film gave us goes, we are severely lacking. There’s still no hover boards or hover conversions for cars, Nike still hasn’t perfected self lacing shoes, Im still waiting for holographic JAWS, I cant hydrate a pizza, my jacket doesn’t dry itself, weather is still hard to predict, all lawyers haven’t been abolished and we are all still waiting to see if the Chicago Cubs live up to their 2015 destiny.

It kind of sucks to see how many fun things from the film never really came to be and how more companies didn’t really embrace the nerdy celebration that many of us hoped October 2015 would really be but thanks to Pepsi, one of those cool futuristic promises is actually here. Pepsi Perfect, the drink Doc Brown sends Marty into the Cafe 80’s to buy with a crisp $50 bill is actually being released. While not as easy to grab as it was for Marty in the film, fans can actually get their hands on the collectible through an online sale for the price of $20.15. There will also be some limited chances for fans to grab a bottle at NYCC this weekend as pepsi will have a special booth on display to celebrate the product and Back To The Future II.

You can read the full press release below and check out the promotional video as well which should warm the heart of any BTTF fan.

Surprising Back to the Future fans everywhere, Pepsi officially confirms the long-awaited creation of Pepsi Perfect – the famous soda Marty McFly orders in the second installment of one of the most beloved trilogies in motion-picture history. The fantastical cola, made famous by the film, will officially be available on October 21, 2015, paying homage to the date Marty McFly travels to in the future. Since 1989, Back To The Future enthusiasts have waited patiently to see how the future unfolds.

“Pepsi fans asked and we heard them loud and clear,” said Lou Arbetter, Senior Director of Marketing, PepsiCo. “The Back to the Future trilogy was as big a moment in pop culture history then as it is now, 30 years later. We are excited to be part of this moment and to bring fans something only Pepsi could deliver – and there’s no need to wait – the future is now!”

SYNCHRONIZE YOUR WATCHES TO OCTBER 21 FOR A CHANCE TO SCORE A PEPSI PERFECT

If our calculations are correct, Pepsi will make the future a reality on October 21, 2015 and unlock limited quantities of Pepsi Perfect, available for purchase online while supplies last. Fans located in the U.S. can get their hands on 1 of 6,500 Pepsi Perfect bottles, each outfitted in a special collectible case. The 16.9 oz. bottles will contain Pepsi Made with Real Sugar and will sell for $20.15.

The Pixar Theory Is Fascinating

I may be behind others on this one but I recently stumbled onto the site called http://www.pixartheory.com . If you’ve never been to it before i highly recommend you check it out as it shares a fascinating theory that all of the Pixar films are indeed related. I love fun theories like this and it looks like they really have a good one on their hands here. Definitely check it out and let me know if you buy into the theory in the comments below!

The New KRAMPUS Trailer Shows The Dark Side Of Christmas

krampussocials

In a trailer I was not aware I was going to need to see, Legendary Pictures has released their first look at Michael Dougherty’s KRAMPUS. The new horror-comedy tells the story of a dysfunctional family who unleashes the demonic wrath of the ancient “Anti-Santa” in what looks like could be a surprising holiday release.

You can check out the much better than expected trailer below and see KRAMPUS in theaters this December 4th.
